Good evening,

I'm writing to ask a question about burning in the cervix. I've checked in the archives and I wasn't sure what to look under. The reason that I'm asking about this is b/c ever since I took a fall in my house in July I've been having burning in my cervix. The last several times that I've had the burning I would have it go on for a few days and then the bleeding would occur.

Well, the bleeding would stop for a time when I would get my Zoladex shots so I figured that the bleeding was b/c of the fact that I was due for my next shot. Well, after I had the shot that was given on Aug 17th I had started to bleed again (like two weeks after the shot was given) and bled a lot all the way up until I had the biopsy of the area of my vaginal wall closest to my cervix (the part just above the opening-I think that is called the os-am I right?). When I had that biopsy of the vaginal wall close to my cervix just above the opening the bleeding stopped. I also didn't have anymore burning until Fri nite and it's starting up again.

I can tell that my cervix is tender when I go and put the lidocaine jelly in my vaginal area on the wall (my dr thought that the jelly would better control that pain than trying to use the ointment). And b/c the cervix is tender I know that my uterus is also bothered some with cramping. Right now my dr has me on Metrogel to see if I have BV going on.

Sorry for the length of the history of this situation but what I'm wanting to know is what does it mean when the cervix burns? My vaginal discharge is like the consistency of ovulation even though I shouldn't be having a period.

Can BV have any effect on the cervix and also cause pain of the infection to radiate up to the nerves in the uterus? I'm wondering this b/c when I get real bad infections I usually feel the pain radiating in to my groin.
