If you are in the follicular stage (prior to ovulation), the number should be low (under 1.1) and if you're in the luteal phase (after ovulation), you want to be between 1.8 and 21. My doc usually tests for progesterone about 7 days after ovulation (this is when it peaks, then it starts to go down after that). She said she likes to see about a 10-12 minimum on a natural cycle and 15 or higher on a medicated cycle. Anything over a 2.0 usually indicates that you did ovulate and your body is producing progesterone. Hope this helps.
