Hi! Thank you for your reply! my Gyn said that my Atrophic vaginitis was caused from giving birth (which was 14 months ago!!) I too do not understand how this is the case when I am still having burning and redness of the hymen and just around the hymen, 14 months later! can it really take this long for my hormones to go back to normal!? My pain originally started from using a scented soap at 7 months pregnant, I have done "everything" for it to heal! it is better then it was a year ago but it's still not healed! it is mainly the hymen that hurts and just around the hymen, it also gets worse the week just after my period, at that time it will also burn a little inside as well and will be dry. he said that my having a biopsy done would only make things worse. I have tried everything, the only thing left for me to try is an estrogen cream. I have read about "vulvar vestibulitis" but it does not hurt to insert things inside, the hymen and the skin just around looks "burned" and this skin will burn a little more after having sex (which I now avoid) from I'm guessing the friction of rubbing, but I have no problems wearing a tampon. I've noticed the skin will burn more after a lot of walking outside in the heat, the heat makes it much worse. I have been tested for everything, I have tried hydrocortison 1% cream, it did nothing, and now he thinks its my hormones so I'm now on the pill. is there any other thoughts you might have? I really don't understand why my skin is taking soo long to heal! Thank you!! Kris
