Montgomery, MD: "Re: [Birth Control] UTI's, Yeast Infections and Birth Control" I am 18yrs old and I started having sex with my first partner about 6 months ago.I have been on birth control for about 4 months now too, but it seems as if since I started taking them I suffer from constant UTI's and/ or Yeast Infections. I don't seem to get as wet as before the pill and i can't have sex more than once every two or three days, we can't even do it twice in one day, because i will feel miserable with in a few hours and it will last up to a week. My symptoms include itching, swelling, pain,dryness, and painful burning during but mostly at the end of urination which will also sometimes contain blood.I have been treated for three UTI's and several Yeast infections (Diflucan pill) but they keep coming back. I would like to know if perhaps my birth control could be making me more prone to getting these infections and if so would changing the kind of pill i take help? I drink cranberry juice, shower after sex, i also pee before and after sex. We don't have anal or rough sex.Could this be something more serious than a UTI or YI?
