Hi Kristine, Generally speaking a woman who is 5'3" tall should weigh about 115 pounds- medium frame. Ninety-eight pounds is too thin for someone your height. Your weight can effect your chances of getting pregnant. If your body fat is too low, this interfers with your hormones and you might not ovulate or have regular periods. I would strongly suggest that you find a Registered Dietitian and he/she can help you find the ideal/desirable weight, and diet for you, especially before you try and get pregnant. You can check the American Dietetic Association website and they can help you find an R.D. in your area. Best wishes,
