There are entire chapters of textbooks on this topic. The classic presentation is obesity, hirsutism (excess hair growth), and irregular menses, and on ultrasound, the ovaries have lots of small cysts on them. However, there are lots of women that do not have all of these features, but who still have chronic anovulation and its associated features. The consequence range from a little mild irregular bleeding, all the way up to infertility with chronic pain and blood sugar problems.
