body weight questionFrom: kristine (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 31 Jul 2001 12:59:34 -0500 (CDT)
I am 30 years old and 5'3" with a petite frame. I am used to doing at least 5 days per week of cardio & weight training exercise and have done this since I have been 18 yrs old. However,I began running as a hobby about 8 months ago and my weight really dropped, from a steady 108 my whole adulthoood, to 98 lbs. I also eat very low fat, probably not more than 20 grams a day at most, lots of veggies, fruit, and lean meat (no red) and have always done so. Although I think I look fine and feel great, people have commented on how thin I have gotten, etc. Those comments now have me concerned. -My questions/concerns now: 1. Am I at an unhealthy weight for my height? 2. If so will this impact my trying to get pregnant? 3. If I get pregnant is my pattern of exercise and eating putting my baby at risk? 4. How can I go about developing a diet that gives enough calories to me (are there sites or a professional I can see)? Thanks!
