Second opinion?From: Lisa (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 29 Jul 2001 22:24:07 -0500 (CDT)
I am one of "these" women who had not seen a gyn for 13 years. Three weeks ago I experienced postmenopausal bleeding and went for an exam. Besides the bleeding I suffer from a constant backache, some weight loss, gas and bloating and an annoying fatigue. The doctor did a pelvic exam (about 15 seconds, he was in a hurry), and he took a pap smear. He said my uterus would be pretty small and I should not worry. When the bleeding didn't stop after ten days, he sent me to have an ultrasound. The technician believed to see a mass on my right ovary, I didn't talk to the radiologist, but the gyn told me the "mass" would be due to a recent bowel movement, the results of the pap had not arrived yet. Is it just me or would you suggest to get a second opinion as my symptoms - except the bleeding - are still there? Thanks in advance, Lisa
