Exactly what causes pre-eclampsia is a matter of theory, study and
conjecture. Many extensive scientific papers have been written with the
theories and scientific explanations. You are referred to them for this
information much to extensive to even start here.
As for the being 6 weeks late - if the pegnancy tests are negative, it
may be a hormonal irregularity. If there's any question, get a blood
pregnancy test.
Hope this helps and write back anytime for more information.

I have been having unprotected sex for two months now and I am 6wks late, all preg tests have come up negative yet i am getting the swollen ankles, and the weird eating habits could this be a phantom pregnancy or could the tests be coming up wrong??
