Gestational Diabetes post 2From: Angelia (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 19 Jul 2001 08:12:11 -0500 (CDT)
I wrote a previous question about this subject and have yet to have a response so in hope that it was just missed I am going to ask it again...I am 34 week pregnant...I have gestational diabetes...I have been seeing a maternal fetal specialist to help me control my blood sugars for they got high for a few days and I could not get them back down...so my diet has been switched again..this seems to help out alot...What I am wondering is should I expect my baby to have problems upon delivery (of which my regular ob, specialist, and I have agreed that 38 weeks will be induced)...and what are the chances of the baby to have problems such as hypoglycemic or respitory problems...and will I be able to eat something I like for a change after delivery...I had a level 2 ultrasound which showed the baby to be healthy with no birth defects or problems at the beginning of my 34th week..I am just worried that he will have complications...what should I expect from what staff will be present and how long before my baby can be with me... Thanks alot, Angelia
