Now I'm really confused!From: AMS (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 3 Jul 2001 05:56:37 -0500 (CDT)
I've been having workup for DUB/menorraghia. In 2 separate exams, both NP and GYN remarked on how hard the top of my uterus was with gyn stating I had "whopping big fibroid." US showed heterogeneous echotexture suggestive of fibroids with no distinct fibroid seen. Now MRI comes back (very hedging because, due to claustrophobia, I had open so not as much detail as radiologist would have liked) and 2 small (1cm) fibroids noted in lower uterine segment, not changing endometrial contours and rest of uterus with no distinct endometrial junction suggesting adenomyosis. I thought with adenomyosis the uterus was boggy not very hard. These results seem to be at odds with clinical exam on 2 separate, months apart, occasions. Why would clinical exam be give such different impression with MRI? Thank you for any thoughts you may have.
