changes in periodFrom: nancy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 30 Jun 2001 21:52:22 -0500 (CDT)
I posted the other day and recieved an answer from Dr. Braun. Mu question was concerning a change in my period after taking Loestrin with great success ( for controlling perimenopausal symptoms). My history is as follows: I am 50 years of age. I had several months of constant heavy bleeding last year, had an endometrial biopsy last July, in August I had a rollerball ablation and hysteroscopic resection of polyp. Ablation cut down on on bleeding by about 50%, but I was still spotting more days than not. I mentioned it to my Dr. at my annual in November, that's when I started Loestrin. At annual Dr. said that everything looked good, and that he had a really good look during surgery. Had normal pap results. I had no more spotting until my last 2 periods, May period was very light, with several days of spotting after, June was preceded by several days of heavy spotting in my 3rd week of pills, follwed by a heavier than usual period. Dr. Braun advised me to let my Dr. know. My question now is what could be causing these changes? Thanks so much. Nancy
