Hello:

Just wanted to thank all of you for the opinions. I feel that I need to confront him with this story..but I don't want to get the girl who told me in trouble, because she was the only one who didn't find the humor in it..so everyone would know that she said it and her job would be in jeopardy! She is new there and on probabtion. Dr. Hill, I think you "hit the nail on the head" when you said he felt uncomfortable saying anything to the O.R. staff..he is a kind, caring doctor (that is why I chose him to be mine)..he also doesn't like to make waves! I know this for a fact! I know also that he would feel "uncool". I also know one of the anestheologists very well, in fact, I work closely with him at the surgicenter and everytime I have surgery, I request him for my anesthesia. Do you think I should ask him if this is a common occurance or an isolated incident? I don't want to put him on the spot, but I need answers here. I'm sure if he doesn't want to answer me, he will just say he doesn't want involved. Also, I think this girl was overly sensitive to the situation because she doesn't particularly like working there and this person was somehow related to her. I still don't think the situation was right and I feel that these people should've been reprimanded (and this doctor may have done so, after the surgery, I have heard of him doing that). He reprimanded a nurse who was caring for me after one surgery because she chose to discontinue my PCA before he made rounds and evaluated me. Thank you all again!
