I wish I could console you both. For FIVE years, I went through 8
colposcopies with multiple biopsies each time, severe dysplasia w/LEEP
performed, I still supposedly have mild/moderate dysplasia and have gone
for pap smears every three-four months for the last FIVE years.
And...out of the blue...at 37, I am now pregnant! Doctors are NOT doing
any pap smears during pregnancy, we all agree that the dysplasia can
wait (since it is not severe) until after the pregnancy and I feel
totally different. I used to OBSESS over the fear of cancer, the fear
of the colposcopies, etc. Now I realize there is really NO way I can
"get" cancer as long as I follow up...and look at the miracle I have
growing in me now so.... Hang in there. I've been in your
shoes.....but cervical cancer is rare in the US as long as you follow
up!!!! Best of luck to both of you!
