In reality, it seems that patients will seek out a physician who practices to their expectations. These are mostly found by word of mouth from friends or relatives.

That said however, I think that if you are seeing a physician and you would like something done a certain way or a certain practice makes you uncomfortable, it is you responsibility to point it out. Remember, you are paying for the service. Further, if the physician's practice style is offensive in any way, the only way he/she will know if for someone to say something. Does one voice make a physician change his/her practice? Its like the guy on the beach throwing clams that had been washed up in the tide, back into the ocean and a guy asks him if he really thinks he is making a difference. The first guy replies, "It's a start"... Lynn
