3 days into IVF stimulation cycle, my wife began menses-what gives???? For this second cycle, she began birth control pills; then she stopped for 2 days and had a baseline Estrogen and Ultrasound. the value to achieve was less than 50mg/dl estrogen. her value was 62 at the time; she had not begun her menustration at that point. We began clomid, follistim and repronex on that same day in light of the value observed. Yesterday morning (monday) she began menustrating and to no surprise the estrogen was 52. Questions: 1. Was the clomid, follistim and repronex supposed to prevent her menustration? 2. Is it possible that she was started too early and that we may now see a response to the drugs? 3.
