too much Leutinizing hormoned due to not enough Progesterone/Estradiol?From: Kelly (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 31 May 2001 08:43:44 -0500 (CDT)
I have a saliva fertility tester that shows when I am fertile by exhibiting a fern pattern when the saliva dries. Apparently this is LH that is crystallizing, showing when you are about to ovulate. However, I this fern pattern showing up during my period, then again the next week, slightly when i am in mid cycle, and then again during the last phase of my cycle. I read on a previous post that progesterone and estradiol are responsible for preventing further LH and follicle development until the end of the cycle. Since I keep having the LH throughout the month, could it be that I am deficient in one or both of these hormones? If so, could it cause symptoms that are similar to menopause? Also, could this cause polycystic ovarian problems? Am I actually ovulating each time, or it is just that the hormone is present? If I could possibly ovulate each time, could this get me to menopause sooner? One of you said that it wasn't possible to ovulate more than once. I wonder about fraternal twins, then. I am a little confused and respect your knowledge because I am finding that this is very intricate and complicated. Your insight would be appreciated. I went in for several hormonal tests last night, but won't be able to go back in until August 1, so some insight beforehand would be wonderful. Thank you, Kelly townsend11@adninternet.com
