Gyn referring me to gastrointestinal/internal medicine dr?

Hi, I'm back again. Re: my last post about recurring pain after TAH/BSO in Feb/00 due to endo and recurring ovarian cysts, then I had laprascopic removal of adhesions in Jan and an removal of necrotic tissue in my incision in Feb.

It's now the end of May and I have had recurring bowel pain symptoms for about 5wks now.....these disappeared after the adhesions were removed but now have returned....to describe before I have a bowel movement I get incredible pain on my right side that moves down to my groin and then across my tummy to the left side, with terrible pain that feels like everything is been pulled this way and that, and then I know it's time to go to the bathroom. so I called my gyn to tell them that these symptoms have returned and they have referred me to a gastrointestinal/internal medicine doctor to see if he can "ease it" for me. The gyn did not want to book and appointment and assess me.

Will this dr be able to remove adhesions if that's what it is again? What does this type of dr do and do you think he will be able to help me? Thanks
