I'm so sorry for your loss. these are all questions your doctor should
have gone over.
Sonograms at 9 weeks are pretty much 100% at seing a fetal heart if it
is present.
The surgery is a D&C and it involves, under an anesthetic, gently
stretching the cervix to allow the doctor to empty the uterus of it's
contents.
Signs and symptoms of miscarriage are heavy bleeding and cramping.
