I need some advice thank youFrom: Tony (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 31 Mar 2001 18:19:00 -0800
I am a 30 year old female with no prior history of illness. I have recently been experiencing pain under my right armpit which is located right were the cord/lump thing that connects your arm. I can not recal exactly when it occured but I have had it know for a good 5 weeks ranging from mild to quite painful. I would like to discribe the pain its like a burning feeling. I have seen various doctors to get a opinion. Thus far they have said they do not feel any swollen lymph nodes and that its probably a muscle. I have tried everything from not shaving and try not to think of the pain. Its seems the more I think about the pain the more I want to touch it to make a self diagnosis and I think I may have injured it more by touching it constantly. I keep telling my self I will not touch it but I do not firmly but I am just checking. I guess I am so afraid of being missed diagnosed that its made me anxious. I also do not have a family physician and go to walk-in clinics as at this time no one is taking new patients. I guess my main concern is could it be cancer in the lymph/ breast area? I have has a ultra-sound of my breast 6 months ago and all as well as well as clinical breast exam 3 times this month. I just need to know what I should be doing so that I can get the right anwers and not feel so anxious. My main concerns are: Could it be a lymph node even though I went to various doctors and all said nothing that they could feel? Could it be breast cancer? Even though I have had my breast examend/ ultra-sound normal? I know I may sound a little to the extreme but I had a friend who died from Cancer and ever since then I am scared of it. I would appreciate any advice/Tests that I could let the doctor know since my follow up is in 1 week. Thank you for your time
