Aerobics, weight training & bleedingFrom: Julia (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 31 Mar 2001 19:40:09 -0600 (CST)
I am a married 31 yr old woman. No children. Condoms as birth control. 25 mg Toprol XL once a day is the only medication for high blood pressure. Three days a week I have 30 minutes of aerobics. Two days a week I do 30 minutes very light weight training, mostly legs. The end of February 2001 when I began this regime, I had spotting - bright red blood - after aerobics, a feeling of fullness & slight cramping in my lower abdomen. Visited my ob-gyn. By time I got the appt. the bleeding had stopped. She did not detect anything unusual & said if it happens again to come in. My period was March 17 - normal. March 27 after aerobics I had spotting, fullness and slight cramping. I saw the doctor that afternoon, but again there didn't seem anything wrong. Five months earlier a transvaginal ultrasound had been done for bleeding between periods & showed only a small ovarian cyst. Because of that test, my doctor feels this is nothing to worry about. Well, today after aerobics I have the same problem, but this time the bleeding is more than spotting and there was tissue-like substance in the toliet water. I'm wearing a pad for the light bleeding. I don't want to drive my poor physician crazy with this - could you please provide a second opinion? Thank you for your time.
