Pain Following Endo ExcisionFrom: Dori (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 31 Mar 2001 15:40:15 -0600 (CST)
I'm curious as to how long it should reasonably take to be pain free after this type of procedure: a 1 hour laparoscopic procedure, cutting out (with the electric scissors) substantial amounts of adhesions on the pelvic floor and intestines, and cutting out one endo lesion, also on pelvic floor. I had my surgery 3 weeks ago I still have burning pains (lower right quad area) especially when sitting. I attempted to return to work 2 weeks after surgery (my administrative job means alot of sitting at a computer), but it was too painful still to sit (even though I used one of those donut-shaped hemmerhoid pillos). Now at 3 weeks I'm still in pain. Is it reasonable to go to work anyway, sit in pain, and just wait it out for the pain to go away down the road or should I hold off on returning? After my first attemp at 2 weeks, I was in pain for 3 more days before I could get it under some degree of control and I had to go back to bed for the rest of the week. Is it common to still feel some uncomfortable from this surgery-related pain 3 weeks post surgery?
