mircronor mangled my faceFrom: Patricia (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 31 Mar 2001 06:02:56 -0600 (CST)
Please help. I always had a perfect complexion. I took micronor for 8 mths and noticed a red streak across my face. I stupidly continued to take it and then within three months I would wash my face and it would by oily within 15 minutes. My GP told me I had Rosecea and told me to get off micronor and on ortho tri cyclen. I went off micronor in Aug 2000 and started ortho tri clyclen Jan 2001. I saw a dermatologist in Mar 2001. He told me I don't have rosecea because my breakdown is within the follicle. I think this drug was telling my body to produce oil so in response my sebaceous glands grew to an abnormal size. I have huge pores now. My entire face in now mangled. I've been on ortho tri cyclen for three months and my face is going through some transformation, but is looking worse. I'm hoping my glands are trying to shrink back to normal. Has this happened to anybody out there? I am considering going on accutane, but would rather wait this out if my genetic face can come back. It does not look like regular acne; it looks like a raised rash with inflammation on my cheeks. My derm said that he has never heard of a case like this but that I could be right. Please email me at tmcdevitt@gis.net Thanks, Tricia
