hyperinsulinemia can be part of polycystic ovarian syndrome, which is associated with lack of ovulation. In turn, this can lead to high, unopposed estrogen levels that abnormally thicken the uterine lining (and this is called hyperplasia). Tereatment involves normalizing blood sugar levels, controlling obesity and adding progesterone in some form.
