For a couple years now, occasionally I will have EXCRUCIATING rectal spasms. Most of the time they occur when I have a bowel movement, but not always. When I do have them it is incapacitating. There are times when I have them when I do not have a movement and at no particular time of the day or night. THey have occurred mid-day while doing laundry and woke me up from peaceful sleep in the middle of the night. But I will say that they are aweful and I wonder if this is something that just "happens" sometimes or if this can be serious. I am only 22 and I have a 15 month old child.
