SSRI's

I had read a transcript from Power Surge (A menopause forum) from a Dr. Stuart Shipko, a psychiatrist and head of a organization for panic and anxiety who maintains that the SSRI antidepressants are dangerous. He says that they reduce dopamin in the brain which may result in Parkinsons and "fry" the serontonin tracks.

I had panic and general anxiety for 17 years before trying meds. I have been on a small amount of zoloft - 25 mg. for 3 years and have my life back. The panic attacks are gone and I feel better than I have in years. I know this is not a gyn question per se, but I would like some of the doctor's input since I probably will need to be on this medication long term. Is there any validity in what he says about SSRI's being dangerous? Thanks.
