If of Ashkenazi or European descent, they should both be checked for carrier state of Tay-Sachs disease. This is in addition to the testws that everyone else should have.

Flareups of Crohn's disease in pregnancy can affect the baby, if they are severe enough. Most people think that pregnancy has little effect on Crohn's disease. About 25% of pregnancies, the Crohn's gets worse, 25% it gets better, and about 50% it stays the same.
