cervical bleedingFrom: Michelle (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 28 Feb 2001 14:56:49 -0500
I am 32 yrs old. I have been coping with bleeding after intercourse since I had my tubes tied in Sept/2000. I had been on the pill for 13 yrs prior. I have been married for 12 yrs and have 2 beautiful children [normal pregnancies]. After I had my tubes tied I began bleeding between periods and having extensive bleeding after sex... bright red blood and a lot of it. By extensive I mean...blood on myself, my husband and all over our bed sheets which has made both my husband and myself alarmed. I have seen my doctor. I had blood work/ultrasound and an endometrial biopsy done ...all negative. My doctor told me that my cervix was fryable [?] meaning easy to bleed. I have been with my husband for 15 yrs. Today I had another appt with my doctor who performed a vaginal ultrasound/coposcopy and another ultrasound where she administered water into my cervix and looked again with an ultrasound machine. She did find a very small polyp which was removed. She still didn't think this would cause a great amount of bleeding but it still went up to the lab. All tests today seemed normal other than my cervix is still fryable and bled when she took another pap test. I have not had intercourse this week and still bleed through the weekend. She mentioned "freezing" my cervix or having laser surgery to stop my cervix from bleeding. Could this be a result of no more birth control? Hormones? If the polyp comes back abnormal I was instructed to have a cone biopsy. My pap last July was normal and my tubal ligation surgery in Sept. was normal. Why is this happening? Looking for some support. Since I wrote the above.....i have had a very "tender" stomach. All biopsies came back normal. My belly area is tender and hurts bad when I get my period. The past two periods I have had were almost black/brown no redness in them at all and only lasted 3 days......I can't seem to get my doctor to agree w/me that it has only been since these clamps were put on my tubes that i have had this problem.....i'm sick of bleeding and i'm sick of having pain in my abdomen area.....my belly gets swollen and i feel pain to the touch........no one seems to think this has ANYTHING TO DO W/THE SURGERY I HAD IN SEPT/2000. Please answer.....i'm looking for some kind of support!!!! No one is listening to me!!!!! ~Michelle
