What should I do?From: leslie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 27 Feb 2001 20:54:04 -0800
My cousin was recently diagnosed with post pardum depression. She was put in a therapeutic residential center against her husbands will. The family is very concerned since she won't eat, speak, and is refusing to take her medicine. Her husband hired a lawyer to get her out but I'm not sure that would help. I saw her this weekend and the nurses told me that she needs someone who she feels comfortable being around and they thought it was me. I find this hard since I life far away. Should we be concerned about her health? How long do you think this will last or how long does it usually take for someone in this situation to get well? My family doesn't really know what is going on, what can I say or do to make them understand or feel better? I would appreciate it very much if you could help me answer all my questions. I feel very useless since there is not much that I could do to make things better. Maribel De Leon (83)502-3980 mdeleon@cats.ucsc.edu
