Help please-kidney stones!!From: Carrie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 31 Jan 2001 15:38:52 -0600 (CST)
I have a history of kidney stones and I am only 23. A month ago I thought I was having another stone -I had pain in my lower back and lower abdomen ,but a IVP showed no stones. I also was tested for a bladder infection, but I did not have one. My urologist sent me to my gyno, thinking that it was my ovaries- after an exam(but not a full one) she said that she thought I had a bladder infection-because of blood in my urine. I am still having both pains and so I am going to get a cystoscope in a week. I have recently heard of interstitial cystitus. I am worried that it may be this. How possible is it to have a stone in my bladder- Would I have pain in my back also if it is in my bladder? Is it more possible that it is an interstitial cystitus? Would I have those kinds of pain(dull, achy) in my back and lower abdomen with this? Is it likely that I would have a kidney stone that would not show up on a IVP, but with a cystoscope? I feel like I am going crazy. Please write if you have any info at all. Thank You!!
