pituitary hormone levels and ArthritisFrom: Amana (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 27 Jan 2001 19:22:22 -0600 (CST)
I am 40 years old and I trying to have another child. My first child was conceived using IVF treatment. Doctor had a very hard time to get the medication right to stimulate my ovaries during the first IVF treatment – but the result was only one fertilized egg and I had a baby. Now they did an initial FSH and Estrodiol levels on my sescond day of period and found that the FSH level was 23 and E2 was normal. They do not want me to do the treatment as the FSH level was 23 on the second day of period. Do you know if I can have a chance with an IUI or IVF at all From the levels posted by your forum the FSH mid-cycle peak is between 5 – 22 and my level is 23 start of the cycle – do you think I am faced with early menopause. Also I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and I am on Enbrel shots every week. The immunologist thinks that since I developed Arthritis as soon as I had the baby the having a second child can reverse this and I have a fighting chance to cure the Arthritis. Can RA meds do anything to change the hormonal balance.
