partner's smokingFrom: Angie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 24 Jan 2001 07:08:08 -0600 (CST)
I've heard of a link between a woman's partner's smoking and her risk of cervical/uterine cancer or other problems. Has anyone else heard this and where can I get more information? It certainly seems plausible that carcinogens which are concentrated in semen could pose a real threat to a woman. Also, any ideas about how long it might take to rid the semen of toxins after the cessation of smoking? I've recently been diagnosed with fibroid tumors, cysts, an enlarged uterus and numerous other polyps or fibroids and this is of concern to me since my partner recently began smoking again. Please advise.
