relationship between yeast infections and HIVFrom: sandy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 15 Jan 2001 15:09:50 -0600 (CST)
I was diagnosed with a yeast infection (I was asymptomatic) in July and was treated with an o.t.c medication. I went back in October to be rechecked due to an ASCUS pap smear and was told I still had the infection and was given a prescription medication(suppository) I went back again in December and still had one-this time I was given Diflucan and the suppository. I am scheduled to return in Febuary. I talked with my doctor's nurse today and she said it could be diabetes or HIV. Needless to say I am scared! I have not had unprotected sex (I've had 6 partners) I went to my family doctor and had blood work today. He didn't seem concerned BUT I am still scared. How would you respond?
