Bartholine gland confusion

I have had problem with my gland for 12 years. I am 27 years old. About 1 month ago my gynocologist performed the window procedure. About 2 weeks later it came back. It hasn't come back to it's full painful size but it is bothersome. It keeps draining all the time. I have talked to by doctor and he said that when it gets a little bigger he wants to remove it. And that's fine with me but I have been hearing all this terrible stuff about how much bleeding is involved with the surgery and I'm getting scared off. Is this surgery life threatening? And also, is it normal for me to keep having this constant drainage. I desprately need some answers. Thank you.
