Marchbein, M.D.: "Re: perineum scar not healed well" I had a rectocele repair nearly four weeks ago. I have been stitched from the back of the perineum right up into the posteria wall of my vagina. Two of the stitches in the perineum have come away about a week ago. They were supposed to dissolve but just came out! I have been quite sore in this area since then and had a look with a mirror and found a hole where one of the stitches must have been and this is sore and looks a bit odd. The tissue in that area is now lumpy and not smooth like it used to be. I hate all this and it is embarrassing to talk about but should I get it looked at?
