You shouldn't be blaming yourself. We trust physician's to give us the correct treatment. After all, that is their job. Please don't beat yourself up over this. Maybe you should try a different doctor if the one you are using isn't working out. I was on metfromin for a while (just got switched to Actos) so I've read up on it and the symptoms you described sound like the side effects for Metafromin. All we(patients) can do is try and be informed as possible. You need to be able to trust your doctor's opinion, but you should also try to be informed enough to know when something won't work for you. Only you know how you feel. If your doctor isn't doing things to help you, maybe you should change doctors, maybe find someone you feel more comfortable talking to.
