If you check in the archives, you will find an explanation by one of the physician's.

Here is my description as I know it to be (I have had both done).

A D&C is a Dilatation and Curretage. Your cervix is dilated and an instrument is placed inside the uterus and the lining is scraped. This can help to diagnose the reason for the bleeding.

A Hysteroscopy is where a scope is placed through the cervix to view the inside of the uterus. They can see if there are polyps, fibroids, etc. Both Polyps and Fibroids can cause irregular bleeding.
