Post Intercourse BleedingFrom: Kerri (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 31 Jul 2000 22:42:53 -0500 (CDT)
Hello, I am a 32 year old female with a past history of two full term pregnancies (no problems whatsoever--10 lb babies) I had intercourse the other evening and noticed pain and bleeding during and after. No pain after, just a bit during. Bleeding lasted only for a brief time after. The bleeding seemed "fresh." I am concerned that it may be something bad. I have always had normal paps, however I had an abortion last year, and I worry that something went wrong, or that it may have caused damage somewhere. I had a normal checkup post the procedure, but could that have caused some scar tissue or something that is being traumatized during intercourse. I rarely have any pain during intercourse, only sometimes. Nothing severe. This pain wasn't severe. When I positioned myself differently, I didn't have any pain. But the bleeding concerns me. I have very normal periods. No cramps. Problem free. (I know, lucky me.) No history of endometriosis. I had my period approximately two weeks prior to the painful intercouse. Do any of you have any enlightening thoughts on this? Preferably professional thoughts. Thanks for your time. K
