Re: What is the difference between a rollerball and a laser ablation?From: jwang,MD (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 31 Jul 2000 20:22:49 -0500 (CDT)
The rollerball ablation uses a ball or barrel shaped probe that has an electrical current pass through it into the endometrial lining, causing scarring. The lase ablation uses a fiberoptic laser - the tip of the laser is directly applied to the lining. I have found teh roller barrel to give the best results. The laser is more high tech, but I don't feel that is gives as even scarring of the lining.
