You can use boric acid during your period, but if the flow is haevy, it won't do much. The side effects of boric acid are basically local irritation. You have to make sure you don't have a strong concentration, though. I am not sure of what the recommended levels are. Sometimes it is hard to tell the difference between the symptoms of yeast inf. and the irritation of treatment. If there is a question, check with your health care provider.
