PCOS..Can it cause severe Pelvic & Corresponding Pain in Lower Back?From: Shocandle (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 31 Jul 2000 08:57:49 -0500 (CDT)
Hi, I am looking for some info. I just found out last week from my Ob-Gyn that all of my tests come up consistent with PCOS. My Dr. is a brand new one, and I still have to schedule an ultrasound. I have had a 4 year history of problems with cysts, one D and C, and removal of a grapefruit sized cyst. I called him the other day to find out about possible other symptoms. He doesn't believe that PCOS can cause Pelvic pain. I have not been working because of this pain since December, and I have corresponding pain on the same side as this in my lower back. I found a post where many women had complained of having severe pelvic pain associated with PCOS. I found out that there is nothing wrong with my back, they say it might be a soft tissue injury. Well, this has been going on since last fall. I don't see why cysts can't cause pain, when I used to get periods (I haven't had once since May), my back and side would hurt so bad, I couldn't even get out of bed. Please, Can anyone direct me to any kind of info that I can maybe show my Dr. if it is possible for this disease to cause pain. Thank you
