Irregular bleeding for 9 months

Hi, Ihave posted here several times regarding irregular bleeding between periods. I am 37 and have 3 children. I had a miscarriage and D&C 9 months ago, and since then have been spotting a few days after periods and also every few days throughout the whole cycle. The doctor tried to treat with hormonal medication, because he thought it is hormonal imbalance. I had only one spotless cycle on medication, but the next cycle on the same medication had midcycle bleeding. Last cycle was without medication and I had little tiny blood dots every few days until my next period. All ultrasounds (regular, not saline) and all blood work was normal. Needless to say that I am totally nervous about the situation.

So now my doc (who still thinks it's hormonal) finally agreed to test for other problems. He wants to send me for a diagnostic hysteroscopy. On this forum I was advised to have a sonohysterogram and endometrial biopsy, but my doc doesn't want to do that, he thinks a hysteroscopy is better. They won't even do a biopsy, only if they see something suspicious.

My question: At this point, is a hysteroscopy an acceptable choice for further testing? Could the hysteroscopy miss things that a sono and biopsy would pick up?

Thank you so much for your great service.
