hazards in the workplaceFrom: amy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 16 Jul 2000 20:50:11 -0500 (CDT)
I am a 28 year old woman who had a late miscarrage (19 weeks) in Feb. 2000. I delivered the baby too early due to a placenta abruption. I am very healthy, never used drugs, excersize, live a healthy lifestyle as well as my husband. I often wonder if my work environment had an adverse impact on my pregnancy. I work in a large manufacturing/development and design facility (one of largest in the world) and my company makes high and low frequency electronic components and is a large cell phone and computer manufacturer. I am in a office environment myself, but sit next to a room filled with x ray machines. And, my old office used to be a quartz crystal processing room of which there is still quartz dust in my air vents. I am seriously considering changing industries due to my fear of the hazards I am around in my office. Am I being too paranoid? Does anyone know of any studies that have been done regarding hazards in the workplace such as radiation, or radio frequency and their impact on feretility?
