The past 8 months of my life have been so out of sorts. It all started September 99 I bleed everyday except for 4 days. My first drs visit was to take birth control pills, as with me being 37 years old and a smoker (light) I decided against it. In October bleeding all but 2 weeks. Sought out another dr obgyn and was sent for a series of blood work and ultrasounds nothing was found out of the ordinary. November I had two periods the bleeding since september has been unusally heavy and painful. Anyway Nov and Dec I had two periods and January was only 18 days from the last period in Dec. By feb I started getting about 25 days apart and somewhat lighter not much. When all this started in September I had noticed I was very dry and that around before or after my cycle I had a skipping heartbeat. Very scary. Was advised that it was hormonal. So I just had a period on 23 June 28 days from the last period had a skipping heartbeat 3 days before and then I stopped on 26 June very very light period and on 28 June awoke to a skipping heart beat all day. Not in sequence but was there all day long. I finally got scared enough as these eposides will go away after a few hours and was advised that it was aniexty. After all that contacted my family dr and was put on effexor Rx, I always read side effects and did not like what I read as I am not a medicine taker I weigh 101 lbs and said could lose weight have nightmares or panic attacks. Was scared of that, so now here I am trying to seek some kind of help. My sister told me that she was perimenopausal at age 37 same syptoms and all. I asked the drs and they said no. I am wondering Could I possibly be perimenopausal as the skipping heartbeats are very scary to me and only occur around my cycle. I have never really felt anxious but worry alot. Any kind of advice you could give would be greatly appreciated. Thank You Mary
