Congratulations on a Superb Service - Can we have a British one?From: Janet (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 30 Jun 2000 08:54:42 -0500 (CDT)
Since finding your site, not only have I used it to personal advantage. I have to say I am not only extremely impressed but also concerned! The impressive aspects: The services being performed here are terrific. Its great to know that there are medical professionals who really care and are willing to donate their services in such a way. Are there any British gyn’s out there who would perform a similar service based on our combined national health and private system of health care? (And if there is one, can I make a private appt please?!?) Whereas I appreciate the technical aspects should be the same, the systems are fundamentally different. Have you thought of an on-line charity donation system for grateful recipients of your advise to express their appreciation? The concerning aspects: Are there really so many ‘bad’ gyns in practise to justify the frequency of advise given to ‘find a new one’, is it just poor individual relationships, or is it a certain class of patient? In those cases where an individual has been advised inappropriately, or not dealt with sympathetically, shouldn’t there be some form of body following these up as official complaints? For every time a patient moves to ‘a new one’, some other poor looser presumably moves to her old one and receives the same inappropriate or unsympathetic treatment! Besides, what a waste of resource and effort by all parties. Anyway, thank you for being there for me. Its incredible just how much so little can actually mean, and how big a difference that can make to someone’s life! I hope I don’t have recourse again for advice, but given the standard of gyn I’m finding over here, I wouldn’t rule it out – I still have a list of unanswered questions a mile long! And I’ll bet a pound to a penny that my gyn goes on a month’s holiday tonight without notifying me of the biopsy results taken just over a week ago!!! Thanks again.
