Part of the plan may depend on what type of cyst was found at your previous surgery. If it was a cystadenoma, it may be that the other ovary has one. Your age also makes a difference in the management - younger women are less likely to have a serious problem than older women. If you are having mild enough symptoms and your doctor's work-up shows that this is likely to be benign, you may be able to wait a while. It is possible that the cyst will not go away, at which time surgery would be the next step.
