Abnormal BleedingFrom: ARF (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 4 Jun 2000 15:45:05 -0500 (CDT)
I have been bleeding for almost 3 weeks. After the normal duration of my period, I have continued to bleed. My doctor prescribed Provera and I just ended a 10 prescription of 10mg/day. The bleeding lessened, but did not go away. I have no clotting and without a tampon, I don't think I would even know there was bleeding. My doctor beleives that this is stress induced and will resolve with the Provera. If not, he wants to do a D&C. I have a few of questions: 1- The bleeding is less, but shouldn't it have stopped with the Provera? 2- Does the fact that the bleeding is less after taking the Provera mean that we are on the right track? 3- Does "no clotting" mean something more significant? 4- I am 41 years old. What types of things (illnesses) are associated with abnormal bleeding? Thanks for your help.
