blighted ovum

I saw my Dr. for the first time on May 16, he did an ultrasound right away and saw no sac, took blood and determined i am 4.5 wks. which is why he saw no sac, progesteron level is good, hcg is good. I had some very light spotting the next day so i called and the very next morning they took blood again and my hcg had doubled. good right? We made my next appt for the 25th of May, he did another ultrasound and saw the sac but, no baby. He took blood again, determined the level had doubled or was where he determined it should be (I think he said about 15,000)he was happy with that but, I fear a blighted ovum. We set up the next appt. for 10 dys later June 10, and he said he must see a baby then. He thinks I was just off on my dates, although I keep a journal and know when i ovulated and had intercourse. today I am a little crampy and am spotting light brown intermittantly, not persistant. Is this normal if I am to have a normal pregnancy or is this my bodies way of telling me i'm having a miscarriage, or a missed miscarriage? I'm trying so hard to be positive but every instinct is telling me something is not right. maybe because other than tender breast and a little tired I dont "feel" pregnant. what should I do? also,if nature took it's course or is going to and i'm Rh negative as i know i am, am I at risk, shouldn't I havae the immune globulin shot? also, is it normal for my hcg level to double and still have no baby and possibly never see the baby through the ultrasound (blighted ovum). thank you for your help.
