10 wk.s post myomectomy, swelling is increasingFrom: Lara (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 15 May 2000 12:28:10 -0500 (CDT)
I had a myomectomy 10 weeks ago to remove 3 fibroids. The largest was 8cm. and sub-serous, it was connected to the uterus by a stalk and was on the posterior side of my uterus, collapsing both it and my bladder. My incision location is above the pubic bone, and is more left than centered. In the last two weeks, I have started to get more swollen in the left-most corner of my incision, all the way over to and underneath the inguinal ligiment (I think that is what it is called) connecting left leg to torso. That area is approx. 2 or 3x the side of the right. My doctor is unconcerned, but the swelling is getting to be so bad it hurts to compress the area at all - sitting, walking, etc. I am icing, but am wondering what else to do.
-- Thanks for any information!
