Hi, This question is for a friend for was seen by a so called pelvic pain specialist who told her that he simply will not do a laparoscopy because of pelvic pain alone..she has been battling this for years! She has had severe endometriosis & adhesions resulting in TAH/BSO. She had ORS and this was taken care of plus due to complications she had a colon resection. Now years later she is still having pain. Her regular gyne referred her to a "friend" of his who supposedly is treating chronic pelvic pain. From what she said this man was uncaring and very RUDE. He told her that since her CT & Sono was normal, he wouldn't do another scope. She is constantly on her feet and lifting patients and pushing and pulling since she is an RN who works in a Ambulatory Surgical Unit. She suggested endometriosis in the tissue and he told her point blank that he never heard of such a thing and didn't know what she was talking about. He told her that since narcotics don't help anymore and the anti-depressants that she tried didn't help, she should try hypnosis...he told her to "quit looking for a cause for her pain" basically....live with it! She is very upset and doesn't know where to turn.....my questions, could it be endometriosis in the tissue and should she continue to pursue finding a cause and subsequently seek help? Thank you in advance for your opinion!
